Window handles are a fundamental element of your uPVC windows and should match to the frame. The key is the spindle's length, which determines if the new uPVC handle will fit.

Espag Handle

Espag handles are most commonly found on Upvc (but they're also used in aluminium and timber). The handles have a square spindle that extends out from the handle's back and locks into the multi-point locking mechanism on the window. Each packer can be removed from the handle's nose or added to the size of the step to get an optimum distance of 9mm and 21mm. The handle comes in both left and right handed versions with straight or curved noses.

The Yale Encloser locking mechanism is activated when you turn the handles on the espagnolette. This is a lot safer than traditional cockspur handles or a standard British handle. This is due to the fact that the handle espagnolette turns several locks to secure the window frame.
